Elmhurst Children’s Theatre (ECT) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, children’s theatre. Dedicated to serving the children of Elmhurst, ECT provides a unique experience in all aspects of live theatre by promoting a supportive and positive learning environment for Elmhurst students in grades 2-9.
We couldn't produce these amazing performances, classes and shows without the support of parents, families, local businesses and the entire Elmhurst community! We are so grateful for the contributions of so many that makes for our shared success.

You are part of ECT's success when you come to our shows, participate in our fundraising, buy a program ad and cheer on our performers! But supporting this programming takes dedication, creativity and financial support of many.
Today ECT proudly celebrates 87 years and continues the tradition of its founders, bringing the Elmhurst community together to enjoy high-quality productions and enriching the lives of children through the performing arts. For period of time, ECT was sponsored by Elmhurst’s PTA Council. ECT is now an entirely self-supporting 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, sustained through participation fees, class tuition, ticket sales and donations of all sizes from our committed community.
In the past two years, two former Presidents of the organization, Michelle Maiers and Pat Cheffer, passed away. Funds were generously provided in their memories from friends and family to acknowledge their legacy and impact on children’s theatre and the arts in the community.
Funds donated in Michelle Maiers’ honor provide to ECT space and equipment needs and have recently been used to upgrade audio equipment and support a dedicated dance space and rehearsal piano.
Funds in Pat Cheffer’s name have been used as a scholarship to enable children of all means to participate in our mainstage programming.
Our 501(c)(3) not-for-profit status provides tax deductible donation opportunities to our community. Letters acknowledging donations are sent annually and can be used for tax purposes.
