For kids in 6th to 8th grades
Wednesdays, Sept 23 to Oct 28, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm Performance approximately 8 pm on Wednesday, Oct 28 $210 This 6-week master class provides actors with a variety of workshops to further develop their musical theater skills in a creative and interactive way AND an opportunity to rehearse and perform with the ECT cast in a virtual show. During each master class session, our actors will participate in skill-building workshops (like Commercial/Cartoon Voice Acting, Improv, Voice Masterclass, & Monologue Workshop) and will also rehearse for a final performance with their fellow ECT cast members. Our cast will act in scenes together both in large and small groups and will be coached by a professional actor. These 2-hour classes will give actors the opportunity to flex their theater muscles and hone in on their craft with the guidance of professional actors from the industry. At the end of the 6-weeks, our casts will showcase what they have learned with scenes and songs for family and friends to watch LIVE on the Broadway from Home Virtual Stage! |

Mondays, Sept 21 to Nov 2, 2020 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm Performance approximately 7:30 pm Monday, Nov 2 NO CLASS Monday, Oct 12 $210 This 6-week program introduces young actors to the world of musical theater with a variety of acting, singing, and movement-based virtual workshops. Master the power of "yes, and" in an improv class, learn about magic as part of theatre, and sing your favorite tune in our group voice workshop. No previous experience required! These 2-hour classes explore the world of musicals through theater games and exercises that will keep any young artist engaged. Kids are split up into small groups with a professional actor to work on specific skills. At the end of the 6-weeks our casts will showcase what they have learned with scenes and songs for family and friends to watch LIVE on the Broadway from Home Virtual Stage! |
ECT is thrilled to be working with our partner in virtual theatre, Broadway from Home. This creative organization is experienced in enabling students from all over the world to work together in real time
while being coached by professional actors and musicians and based on the award-winning Spotlight Summer Theater Workshop, now in its 13th year.
These workshops are open to Elmhurst residents or kids who attend Elmhurst schools. If space allows, children from neighboring communities will be admitted.
